Upon arrival in Athens international Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your selected hotel. We suggest you explore the old neighborhood of Athens, Plaka. This fantastic area is based under the historical Acropolis Hill and its a unique centre for shopping, traditional Greek restaurants and bars and in general it’s the perfect place to visit on the first day of your vacation.
After your breakfast, lets have an amazing tour.
Our first stop is the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian On our way to Argolis area we will visit Mycaene, the Homeric city of Atreides, the city “rich in Gold” of the ancient poets. Visit the Lions Gate , the Cyclopean Walls , the Royal Tombs etc. Depart for Nafplio, through the fertile plain of Argolis , the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress.
Check in at your hotel and visit the Palamidi Fortress which proudly stands 216 m above sea level. In order to reach it you have to climb all of its 999 steps carved into the rock. Not to worry, though: the view from above here is totally rewarding! . Late in the afternoon , enjoy your walk to the picturesque town of Nafplio, once the first capital of Greece.
After breakfast , enjoy Nafplio on your own. Nafplio, is one of the most romantic cities all over Greece.
According to mythology, the town was founded by Nafplio, the son of god Poseidon and the daughter of Danaus. Ancient walls, medieval castles, monuments and statues, Ottoman fountains and Venetian or neoclassical buildings mesmerize the visitor with their unique architecture and beauty. In the evening visit Bourtzi, the Venetian small fortress standing on the rocky islet of Agioi Theodoroi. During the Venetian rule it was connected to Akronafplia through a huge metal chain that secured the port against enemy ship attacks. At the beginning of 1860 in Bourtzi used to live the executioners of Palamidi prisoners. In the summer you can reach the fortress by boat departing regularly from the port. If you are lucky enough you may even be able to attend one of the fascinating festivals taking place on the islet!
After breakfast drive from Nafplio to Monemvasia area, with its medieval castle town Monemvasia is build on a rock and has remained unspoilt through ages. Thats why cars are not allowed within the Castle Town.You may stay in the castle in order to discover by yourself a true mustery ! Of cource there is no big hotels in the castle town of Momemvasia , but small atmospheric properties.
